The Bolobedu IPP Substation and Pyramid Switching Station Project represents a key milestone in the advancement of regional energy infrastructure, with a focus on strengthening power transmission capabilities to meet growing demand.
Tractionel Enterprise was awarded the contract for the design and construction of critical infrastructure, including the 132kV IPP Substation at the Bolobedu PV Plant, the 132kV Distribution (Dx) Pyramid Switching Station, the Eskom Overhead Line (OHL) to the Main Transmission Station, and the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW).
Together, these works establish the backbone of a resilient, reliable, and efficient power transmission network that supports both industrial and community energy requirements.
With a project value of approximately R250,000,000 and under the leadership of Voltalia South Africa (Pty) Ltd as the client, this turnkey initiative commenced in June 2023 and was completed in November 2025.
