In 2019, Tractionel Enterprise successfully executed the Sirius 132 / 33kVIPP and Eskom Substation project in Upington, Northern Cape. This development included the construction of a 1 x 80MW 132/33kV substation, complemented by a 12km 132kV overhead line. Commissioned by Scatec as the Independent Power Producer, with TAP as the appointed consultant, the project was delivered with an investment value of approx. R70,000,000. Completed within 10 months, this milestone project contributed significantly to strengthening Eskom’s grid infrastructure and advancing renewable energy integration in the region.
